Educational Background and Training
Moira Hill received a bachelor’s degree from Harvard College, a master’s degree from the University of Minnesota, and a doctorate from Yale University. She spent a year as a fellow at the Bach Archive Leipzig in connection with her dissertation research. Though her extensive training as a historian of music gives her credibility within the area of humanities, additional coursework in mathematics and the sciences at a university level qualifies her for instructing in a wide variety of fields. In addition to being fluent in German, she is also a talented musician who enjoys performing in diverse musical styles on a variety of instruments.
Teaching Experience and Licensure
Dr. Hill has over a decade of teaching experience in higher education including both humanities and social science topics and has served as lecturer at Yale. She taught in Carleton College’s Music Department from 2023 through 2026. She is also licensed as a substitute teacher and has experience offering instruction to school-aged children with developmentally appropriate pedagogical techniques.

Teaching Experience
Mark Krusemeyer is an emeritus professor who taught mathematics at Carleton College from 1984 through 2023. His mathematical interests include algebra, combinatorics, number theory, and problem solving. He has taught at Canada/USA Mathcamp since 1997. In 1994 he received the Award for Distinguished College or University Teaching of Mathematics from the North Central Section of the Mathematical Society of America. Prof. Krusemeyer served two three-year terms as a problem setter for the William Lowell Putnam Mathematical Competition. At Carleton he also served as senior lecturer in recorder.
